News From National HOSA!

Do You Make a Difference?

Many HOSA members today make a difference in their communities by serving as a volunteer in community service opportunities. Most HOSA members find that community service hours give them an opportunity to extend their health science learning, and to do something meaningful for those in need. HOSA recognizes their service contributions through the Barbara James Service Award.

New this year! HOSA will submit the name and hours of ALL Barbara James Service Award recipients who contribute 100 hours or more of community service to the USA Freedom Corps for recognition. Those outstanding HOSA members will earn The President's Volunteer Service Award. And, you do not need to attend the HOSA National Leadership Conference to qualify for this award. National HOSA will submit your documentation and give your pin and certificate to your State Advisor to be forwarded to you.

BE SURE TO FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES! Your service hours MUST BE in service to your community. (Not all volunteer activities qualify.) So, be sure to read the date requirements and examples of qualifying activities. Then, get out there and make a positive difference in your community!
